With celebrity names under the belt like David Beckham and LeBron James, Gabe Shum is one of the most inspired and legendary tattooists to the stars when it comes to needles and ink. Gabe has been involved deeply into changing and driving the Asian tattoo culture away from negative connotations ever since. In 2013, Gabe organised Hong Kong’s first-ever three-day international tattoo exhibition featuring more than 100 international tattooists including the renowned Robert Hernandez and Shigenori Iwasaki. It became a great success in putting Hong Kong on the global tattoo-map, which leads to a yearly event with over 300 participating tattooists.
Come 2024, the esteemed exhibition is set to broaden its horizon by extending its presence all the way to Chengdu, China. With this expansion, we are not merely extending our geographical footprint, but also our commitment to bringing together the best of the tattoo world. Our aim is not just to organize another exhibition, but to curate an event that stands as the epitome of international tattoo exhibitions in Asia. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to showcase the artistic depth and diversity of this form of self-expression, and we are confident that our Chengdu exhibition will set a new benchmark for tattoo exhibitions across the continent.
